There is a party, because Cihan, a Turkish boy, is going to be circumcised. The boy himself is not really aware of what is in store for him, but the comments by his relatives and friends convince him more and more of the importance of the event. And this is also why he is seized by panic. In the film, the tension is built up with lots of effects to the circumcision, supported by the editing that is set to the rhythm of the rousing music.
